Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was known as a TV host, ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Burrell is host of the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and her energised persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals concise easy-to-master techniques to the home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked in top New York restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and surroundings. She also competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. Her passion was for working in the restaurant business by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute as a student The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian style of living and the culture and has made an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aims to enrich the lives of children facing obstacles. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador who promotes the awareness of children with diabetes. As a speaker, Burrell goes on a tour across the United States to speak about her passion for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne says during her time in the culinary field that she's grateful to have the opportunity to be able to share what's really important to her.
