Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She is the host of The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. The spiky blond hair and pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides clear, easy to learn techniques to cook at home on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked in top New York restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and geography. In addition, she appeared on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. She furthered her interest in food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute of being a student at The Culinary Institute of America she states. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. During her time in Italy she was able to fully appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian food and culture that made a lasting impression on her food viewpoint. Burrell was part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aims to enrich the lives of children facing challenges. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for education about young-onset diabetes. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she is on the road to promote her love for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has said, "I feel blessed to be able to share my passion in life with others.
